Sequoia Retail Systems - Letter from Jim
Letter from Jim

CEO Corner

Jim Zaorski

I want to take the opportunity to thank you for your continued support and to let you know about some of our new and upcoming products. We have worked hard this past year to deliver the best products and services to our customers and look forward to more releases in 2009.

This fall, we released several new products and will continue to roll out new releases throughout 2009.

Highlights include:

  • SCS 5.8.0 (released September 2008) directly connects to wholesalers via ftp, saving money on easy link fees.
  • Bookshare (released October 2008) now has an ISBN search where customers can search for needed titles and easily order books from partner stores from the search results page.
  • PCPOS register release 2.67 (released November 2008) gives customers the ability to combine gift card and merchandise sales within a single transaction.
  • EPOS 4.1 (released December 2008) simplifies the faculty requisition process and reduces the number of steps needed to adopt books for courses.

We are committed to maintaining our customer advantages by continuing to focus on enhancing our products. In addition to these new releases, we have revised our existing development procedures, ensuring that we produce better and cleaner code.

Sequoia will be releasing the best and most secure credit processing solution in the industry and will finish our PA-DSS certification in 2009. We anticipate releasing online gift card balance checking and recharging for ePOS. This feature is currently in the testing phase.

We are also planning major upgrades to SCS to provide a better interface and better support for serialized items. Sequoia will also be releasing an update to Bookshare in February 2009, giving non-Sequoia stores the ability to partner with other stores on Bookshare.

We look forward to the year ahead and wish you a happy and successful 2009.

Jim
