Sequoia Retail Systems - SCS New Features
SCS New Features

Latest Sequoia SCS version adds great new features

SCS Server Suite 5.8.0 was released on September 12th. It contains updates to SCS, Textbook Partner, and Tradebook Partner. New SCS 5.8.0 includes several security improvements, as well as many additional features.

We have added several enhanced security measures to SCS to ensure that our customers’ systems will be compliant with the credit industry standards. Changes include additional credit card encryption to ensure that unencrypted credit and debit card numbers are not stored on the SCS server at any time.

We have also simplified the process of checking on hand quantities while ordering items in SCS 5.8.0. Current on hand data is displayed when creating a purchase order. Users also have more options to email or resend purchase orders to vendors from the main ordering/ receiving menu.

Textbook Partner has had several changes including full support for Bookshare. Users can also order books directly from wholesalers via ftp and we have improved the loading of the Follett buyguide. Textbook Partner now contains a buyback log, recording every book that the store tried to buy back. This feature is especially useful to track books with no buyback value that students attempted to sell back to your store.
