Because bookstores have huge dollars tied up in inventory, we know the
important role of textbook returns. With our fully automated
returns module, time-sensitive returns are no longer an issue, which means
no more worrying about write-offs. Some features of our returns software
include:
- Invoice expirations based on calendar days, not months; this gives
the ability to run a report of "invoices due to expire within 'so many' days"
- Ability to run return reports by best price to maximize return dollars
- Overstocked quantities from closed terms are automatically applied to
future terms - no need to return books if they are being used again
- Ability to keep all books adopted for the next term, or only the
quantities that are needed
- Picking Lists can be automatically printed for all generated returns
- Ability to return books based on book grade
- Returns can be un-posted, edited, and re-posted if you need to make
changes to your chargeback due to credit memo discrepancies
- Returns and Permission Letters can be generated on-demand for books
that need to be returned soon, and are not being used for upcoming terms
- Permission letters can be faxed to publishers, distributors, or
wholesalers
- Return and Permission Letter templates can be customized on demand
- When returns are posted, inventory is debited, stock ledger is updated,
and returns can be passed to a third party or university-based accounting
system for tracking of credit or refunds from the vendor
